NATIONAL RED RIBBON WEEK

October 28- November 1, 2019

Red Ribbon week is the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention program reaching millions during the last week of October. By wearing red ribbons and celebrating Red Ribbon Week young people pledge to live drug free lives and pay tribute to DEA Special Agent Enrique Camarena who was brutally murdered in his pursuit of members of the drug cartel in Mexico. In 1988 the National Family Partnership coordinated the first National Red Ribbon Week.

Monday          Wearing RED is showing support for the fight against illegal drug use, encourage your students to wear Red and participate in the dress up days this week. FLOOD THE SCHOOL WITH RED.

Tuesday          Remind student that trying to hide drug abuse will not make it go away. Education and reporting the use of illegal drugs is important in the fight against abuse. We must work together to STOMP OUT DRUGS.

Wednesday    Talk to your students about the importance of taking a stand against drug abuse. Just say NO!! CATCH THE WAVE FOR A DRUG FREE WORLD.

Thursday        Halloween!! We need to unmask the HORRORS of drug use. DON’T BE TRICKED , DRUGS ARE NO TREAT.

Friday             Remind students the importance of everyone working as a team in the fight against drugs. Give examples of how school systems, communities, churches, etc. can team up to fight against drug abuse. TEAM UP AGAINST DRUG ABUSE.
